University of California in Northridge was the next stop. Since I have already given a master class there couple years before, I knew the venue and was looking very much forward to seeing Dmitry Rachmanov, the chair of the music department. The thrill was staying in Ehling’s castle in West Hollywood, a beautiful house of mosaics, and arts, all created by George Ehling, a father of my former student, Otto. I have seen pictures and have heard about the mosaics, but I was simply astonished by what I saw and experienced.283436_10151129501466298_435522355_n
Otto Ehling was without a debt one of the most gifted and unique students I have worked with. Now I understood where it all came from. I had a fantastic weekend with Ehling family, and enjoyed all meals and talks we shared together but especially the Brazilian party, with home-cook food and delicious deserts.
